About D.J. Cole.
D.J. Cole writes about the systems people trust and the moment that trust becomes a liability.
Before writing, Cole spent years working in residential technology. Smart home design. Connected infrastructure. The kind of work where you learn how buildings communicate with the people inside them, and how those systems can be configured to do things their owners never intended.
The ALWAYS series came from a question that wouldn’t go away: what happens when someone who understands connected homes decides to use that knowledge against the person living in one?
The technical detail in the books is not researched from articles or speculated from headlines. It comes from professional familiarity with the devices, the protocols, and the gaps between what the manual says and what the hardware actually permits.
Cole does not maintain a public presence, for reasons that will be obvious to anyone who has read the books. In a series about surveillance and the erosion of privacy, an author who cannot be found online is its own kind of statement.
The ALWAYS series is independently written and published through BOXA Publishing. There is no ghostwriter. There is no content team. There is no editorial committee deciding what the books should say.
